Key hires bring fresh insight into analytics, ecommerce and business strategy innovation

As the rules for customer engagement and continuous commerce continue to transform at a rapid pace, OgilvyOne Shanghai has become an ever more important presence for businesses around China. 2015 has seen the top customer engagement agency experience double digit growth, as well as an influx of diverse new clients in industries ranging from fashion to retail, cosmetics and digital.  During this exciting time, OgilvyOne Shanghai is moving to further fuel future development by appointing three talented new team members, each set to merge their expertise with the competencies of the team’s core.

“OgilvyOne Shanghai is having a tremendous year of success and new business,” says Allen Xu, Managing Director of OgilvyOne Shanghai. “To stay on top in our fast-moving digital world, it’s imperative we deepen and strengthen our team to give our clients options that evolve with their business needs.  Cross-discipline talents with hybrid skill sets are crucial for bringing about game changes”

As new Vice President of Innovation & Strategy, Charles Laporte Aust will work closely with both OgilvyOne and Ogilvy PR Shanghai to cultivate upstream business opportunities, integrating the best services across all of Ogilvy Group in order to help build unique solutions to business challenges.

Originally hailing from Montreal, Mr. Aust has a rich and creative strategy background. Most recently, he was Consulting Practice Head and Acting Asia Business Leader at What If! Innovation Partners based in Shanghai. Previous to joining ?What If!, he spent years garnering deep experience in building great businesses across agency, client side and startups.

“Essentially, my job is to help business leaders envision what their future businesses could look like, and optimize the use of all our business offerings in helping them achieve those visions,” says Charles. “I’m incredibly excited to help unleash different strengths of Ogilvy China against making a massive impact with our clients in new ways".

To help integrate science into the art of marketing, Mike Zhu will be taking up the position as Head of eCommerce and Analytics, aiming to utilize data to better perfect the brand story and connect with customers.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, Zhu started his career as a marketing strategist in US and later moved to China where he held various positions at PHD Media and POSSIBLE

New Business Director Grace Fong completes the trifecta. With an advertising career that stretches back 15 years and across several key brands such as Avon and Coca Cola, she has been brought on to expand her portfolio for clients like Budweiser and IHG, with a greater focus on digital and campaign integrations.

“OgilvyOne is the strongest customer engagement agency China has to offer, but we need to make sure we are constantly advancing and improving our abilities,” says Jacco ter Schegget, President of OgilvyOne China. “Charles, Mike and Grace are valuable resources who will help us continue to be beyond digital, and delve into analytics, eCommerce and innovation in business strategy.”
