Nexus' George Wu Directs 'Chickens' for Channel 4

‘Chickens’ directed by George Wu, has been chosen to be part of the ‘Random Acts’ series currently airing on Channel 4 at midnight on Thursdays.  George worked with illustrator, Meng-Chia Lai to create a touching and charming story of how friendships develop and change. With a music score by Athos Tsiopani, Meng-Chai Lai’s delicate, seemingly simple, line drawings are able to portray a complexity of emotions in a sensitive way.

Adam and Emma meet at work and decide to take their relationship further, but they are never alone – the elephant seems to remain in the room too.  This short film will touch the hearts of anyone who has ever felt awkward in a relationship or regretted giving away their true feelings. Based on collective true-life stories of the Director and many of her friends, we see how George has explored the concept of ‘The Friend-zone’ in a perceptive and comedic way.
