For creatives who deal with crippling insecurities and the vague notion they might actually be terrible, nothing beats your creative director telling you that, actually, they quite like your idea. Trouble is, getting that validation can be a little tricky at times.
Introducing the HOT PRAISE HOTLINE. A number you can call 24/7 to get instant praise and glowing feedback from some of adland’s best loved creative directors whenever you need a little ego boost. And it’s all for charity too, just in case you feel a bit seedy afterwards, raising money for the Creative Mentor Network.
UK HOTLINE: 0901-888-20-99
NON-UK HOTLINE: +44 1223-250-600
The hotline was created to support this year’s Shots Awards – playing on the irony that you can get instant industry recognition and praise by winning an award instead – the kind of genuine validation that can’t be bought.
Mr President's Laura Jordan Bambach; Creature's Stu Outhwaite-Noel; Publicis' Dave Monk; BETC's Rosie Bardales; and Leo Burnett's Chaka Sobhani; Grey London’s Vicki Maguire, Droga5’s David Kolbusz and Uncommon's Nils Leonard all have custom written tracks on the chatline. Tart cards will also be hijacking London agency loos this week.
To promote the hotline, Uncommon created the 90s chat line inspired promo with that distinctive grainy and unsteady VHS aesthetic directed by Daniel Warwick through Biscuit Filmworks. Daniel conjured a suitably early 90s atmosphere on set; soft jazz, strangely shaped leather furnishings, shoulder pads and crimping irons. The creative directors star in the promo themselves, throwing it back with some serious 90s nostalgia wardrobe.
