MPC Signs Seery, Promotes Koenig

MPC follows remote viewing network with first NY colourist and LA promotion MPC Signs Seery, Promotes Koenig

After launching its Remote Viewing operation with outposts in Dallas, Austin, Minneapolis and Denver, MPC is making more big moves in the US. The visual effects studio has promoted Ed Koenig to US EP of Colour Grading, heading its development operations across the States, and has signed industry pioneer Adrian Seery as the Colourist in its New York studio. Koenig will focus on continuing to expand MPC’s Colour Grading services from coast to coast, while Seery will joins the New York office as the location’s first dedicated grading specialist.

Seery has established himself as an industry legend having spent much of his 18-year career as Director of Telecine at Rushes UK. It was at Rushes that he became a trailblazer of the widely influential style of creative grading that began in the 1990s, working with the likes of Jonathan Glazer, Daniel Kleinman and Gerard De Thame. Seery joins MPC New York directly after two years at TechniColor, where he focused his efforts on feature films.

Koenig, a veteran of both the agency and production worlds in New York and LA, combines a practiced Colourist’s eye with a producer’s business savvy, making him the ideal head of MPC’s on-going US Colour Grading expansion. He has worked with A-list directors such as Adam Berg, Rupert Sanders and Carl Erik Rinsch.

“This is a very exciting time for us, especially with regards to our New York studio,” noted MPC LA MD Andrew Bell. “Over the past year, Ed has built a thriving Colour Grading department at MPC LA that provides our clients with an unprecedented level of quality and service.” MPC NY MD Justin Lane adds, “Adrian is one of the founding fathers of creative grading, and it’s an honour to have him join the team. We cannot wait to see how our New York studio grows with the benefit of Ed’s leadership and Adrian’s expertise.”
