MEC Commerce Expands into Middle East and North Africa

MEC today announced the launch of MEC Commerce, the agency’s specialist ecommerce consultancy, in the MENA region. MEC Commerce combines the services of a media agency with best in class consultancy, securing brilliant delivery of ecommerce strategies.

MEC Commerce MENA will be led by Head of Ecommerce Julio Cesar Rodriguez, whose experience includes ecommerce projects for clients within online travel, hospitality and retail. The new division is part of the EMEA hub in London and will be supported by the team there.

Marc Ghosn, General Manager, MEC UAE, commented on the launch, “The MENA region is a fast-growing marketplace with lots of scope for brands looking to succeed in ecommerce. I believe the launch of MEC Commerce will make a real difference to our clients here.”

Mudit Jaju, Head of MEC Commerce, EMEA, added, “We start with understanding each brand’s unique consumer purchase journey. Using that insight, we are better poised to create solutions that will grow our clients’ businesses in a world of modern retail.”

In a media agency first, MEC launched its regional ecommerce consultancy in April 2015 and has since delivered projects for clients such as Pfizer and Nestlé among others. As ecommerce is becoming a new growth opportunity for brands, MEC has continued to build its expertise in the area by launching MEC Commerce in key markets like UK, Germany, Poland, Norway, Belgium and now also in MENA.
