Mark and Google's Movember Games
Time to get those mo's into shape
Mark Sydney and Google Australia have launched a series of moustache-powered games in conjunction with Movember.
Movember Games’ sees M&C Saatchi’s digital agency Mark collaborate with digital production arm, MAKE, to launch a Google Chrome web app. The games are designed to keep participants motivated during the month of Movember by using the latest browser technology in a fun and innovative way.
The app features four face-tracking games which are set to roll out each week of Movember. Google Chrome, a web camera and a face are all a participant needs to play.
Week One game, the Lame Mo, invites beginner moustache wearers to strengthen their mo by lifting a barbell…. using only their top lip!
Mark Creative Director, Hamish Stewart, said, “The project has been a showcase for the kind of digital collaboration we’re nurturing in the agency. It’s been a labour of love for the entire team, while being a delightful way to raise awareness for Movember and Google Chrome. I hope people have as much fun playing the games as we did making them.”
James Bush, Creative Technologist at MAKE, added, "Audio and video capture has been seen as the holy grail of web development for a long time. For many years we've had to rely on browser plugins to get the job done. With the introduction of HTML5 we can now use JavaScript to access a device’s web camera, which makes it possible to use facial recognition for the game controls."
The campaign is supported by online and outdoor and a 30-second TVC, which is embedded above.
The team at Mark are also participating in Movember, demonstrating their support by giving the Mark logo a ‘tache makeover.
