Well today is a grim day... and it's certainly winter. I felt at least 4 snowflakes fall on me in Camden Town this morning, it doesn't get much more wintery than that.
When it's not this grey and bleak, winter can be so beautiful - and there is much stunning music out there to evoke this.
Several Christmases ago, Nils Frahm (before his meteoric rise of late) made a short EP of tracks he had composed and played, as a unique gift for friends and family. This was released by Erased Tapes Records some years later in 2009, and 'Wintermusik' is how I start my winter music playlist. This is followed by more delicate tunes to evoke the beauty of winter, by stunningly talented artists such as Poppy Ackroyd, Neue Meister's Federico Albanese and Sven Helbig, Christian Löffler (pictured), Aukai and Grammy-nominated Tycho (good luck this weekend!).
Enjoy and stay strong, Spring will be here in no time...
