"We’ve had a fantastic month watching the World Cup. There’s been a great deal of excitement, cheers, boos and yelling at the screen. It may have come to an end and, sadly, football did not come home, but it has inspired me to venture outside of my usual listening habits. I’ve gone further afield to listen to artists from across the globe and discovered artists from Beijing’s underground electronic scene to a female Saudi DJ. I’ve listened to politically-charged Palestinian music and to experimental Iranian electronics.
So put on your headphones and join my around-the-world tour of electronic music. Beginning with a track from the winners of the World Cup, France, my playlist travels around Europe, journeys to America and then explores Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Iran, Palestine, Colombia and Egypt to name a few.
