Bruno Aveillan directs a spectacular series of action sequences through the ages for the historical attraction in France
Puy du Fou, voted the “best park in the world”, has unveiled its short promotional film, ‘Eternels’. The film was directed by award-winning filmmaker Bruno Aveillan and created by Les Gros Mots. Entirely filmed in the heart of Puy du Fou’s authentic, scenic park, it includes performances from the park’s stuntmen, horse riders and artists. This epic, which takes us on a journey through the centuries, draws an original parallel to visitors’ experiences of Puy du Fou, taking us from one era to another through breathtaking spectacles.

Puy du Fou takes the audience on a journey with Louis, a so-called ‘Poilu’ infantryman from the First World War, abandoned on the battlefield in the hellhole at Verdun. The young soldier is looking at a photo of his fiancé, who seems to be calling for his help. He then embarks on an odyssey through the centuries to find her.

Known worldwide for his exceptional works such as “L’Odysée” for Cartier or ‘La Légende de Shalimar’ for Guerlain, Bruno Aveillan delivers a brand new visual creation for the best park in the world, reinforcing the prestige of the Puy du Fou brand; the film provides a real aesthetic shock, breaking with the norms of the universe of leisure and parks. The film’s original soundtrack, written by Nathan Stornetta, a gifted student of the great composer Hans Zimmer and performed by the Prague Symphonic Ensemble, underscores the poignant narrative of Louis as he voyages across the ages searching for his loved one with depth and emotion.

It took two and a half years of preparation and an entire week of filming using five cameras filming simultaneously in order to bring this unique picture to life, one that reflects the quality experienced by Puy du Fou’s visitors. Over 200 actors from Puy du Fou took part in the making of this extraordinary film, which required 600 costumes, 30 horses, 2 tons of fireworks, 30 make-up artists, 2 drones and over 60 hours of rushes. Bruno Aveillan has been able to translate the aesthetics and visual force of Puy du Fou, facets which have made the park famous for over 40 years, into a spectacular and moving film.

From April 21st, viewers will be able to discover the film across all TV channels and digital platforms of the TF1 group. “Eternels” will also be shared on Puy du Fou’s social networks, YouTube, and in over 500 movie theatres.

Following the language of cinema, the artistic expression invented by Puy du Fou can be considered an 8th art, a new way of telling and staging stories that have a universal soul, and are able to transcend all cultures.
