With a flurry of entries at just $50 apiece,
Melbourne has embraced the launch of the reimagined MADC Stars, but
there is still time to enter, says Adrian Bosich, MADC President, with
entries closing 7pm next Wednesday, 19 September.
Says Bosich:
"We're receiving a large number of entries and not just from agencies.
Production companies and post houses are entering 'Film' which
encompasses craft. Photography and graphic studios are entering
'Design'. And young creatives, directors and doers are submitting their
entries to be considered amongst our 'Rising Stars'. The response is
very encouraging for Melbourne's creative community."
With
no gold, silver or bronze, the MADC Stars Creative Showcase promises to
be a curated collection of the best of the best. The new pricing
structure is designed to make participation accessible for all, and
generate recognition for Melbourne's worthiest work.
Submissions will be judged by an esteemed panel of awarded expats,
chaired by past MADC President and renowned global creative, Matt
Eastwood. Rather than one winner per category, a shortlist of the very
best Melbourne has to offer will be elevated and celebrated, with judges
providing commentary on why the selected works are deserving of
recognition.
Says Eastwood: "I found the MADC to be an
incredible, tight-knit group of people who were more than willing to
help me assimilate into advertising life when I lived in Melbourne. More
importantly, the MADC helped me meet not just colleagues, but friends. I
was able to find and support young creative talent, many of whom today
lead agencies. I'm incredibly proud to be Chairman of Judges for the
MADC Stars. I hope I can give back just a little of what the MADC gave
me."
The new format has met with praise. The team at //Thirteen
& Co. were the first to demonstrate their support and generosity by
coming on as sponsors, and are now joined by Bang Bang and Mr Fox. The
move has been followed by Melbourne's premier agencies - big and small.
The award part of the evening will culminate with the presentation of
the Creative Showcase by Matt Eastwood, fresh from the US.
The
Creative Showcase will recognise local greatness, with a relaxed
atmosphere to promote conversation and connection - an event Melbourne's
ad community didn't remember they needed, until now.
Thanks to sponsors, tickets are also capped at just $50, and will go on sale once entries have closed.
