Pete Riski directs the lovely tale of Pixie the dog for agency Irish International

Ireland’s leading connected entertainment provider, UPC has launched its latest ad campaign which follows a day in the life of two people, a parrot, and Pixie the dog. First aired on primetime TV on Friday 10th July, the ad celebrates the power of UPC’s superior fibre powered network which was once again voted the Best Broadband Provider 2015 at the annual Switcher Broadband Awards.

In the ad, called ‘Life Flows Better With UPC’, a voiceover introduces the storyline of a girl who lives with her parrot. Living in the apartment above her is a guy who owns a dog called Pixie, who cannot resist an open door!  This is the moment the story really begins with an epic search to find Pixie using Ireland’s fastest broadband. Happily, a surfer finds the dog and unites them all.  Unfortunately for the girl, the same day Pixie was found, her parrot went viral by doing his own disappearing act and so the story continues.

The ad campaign was created by local agency Irish International and produced by Rattling Stick, with media planning handled by OMD and will also run in cinema, display, on line search, social media Video on Demand, radio, print and out of home.

Pete Riski, Director of Rattling Stick said:  “This was one of those rare scripts that when I read it for the first time I was immediately clear in what style and genre I wanted to tell the story;  Light and playful, but with the heart and warmth still very much there.”

The ad campaign features UPC’s new marketing proposition which offers customers access to everything the internet can offer, without any limitations or compromise. Powered by UPC’s superior 240Mb broadband, customers can avail of Ireland’s fastest broadband connection and unlimited calls for just €25 a month. Bundles come with free television for 12 months and include Horizon Go.

Niamh O’Driscoll, Senior Campaign Manager in UPC Ireland added:  “Technology is central to all our lives and the rate of growth in internet usage at home is continuing to increase. This new offer from UPC gives customers seamless and intuitive connectivity and entertainment, freeing them to access everything the internet can offer. Powered by UPC’s superior 240Mb broadband, customers will be able to avail of the fastest unlimited broadband speed in Ireland direct to their home, without any limitations. This is an exciting offering and we look forward to welcoming new customers as we continue to deliver value, quality and performance for consumers.”
