Debbie Preston brought on board as strategy director

Independent integrated agency LIFE has bolstered its strategy and account management teams with five new hires to its Birmingham office. The appointments have been made to service recent business wins such as Maxxium UK and Samsung.

Debbie Preston has been brought on board as strategy director to bolster LIFE’s strategic offering, providing guidance and insight for some of the agency’s largest clients including Molson Coors.

Preston joins LIFE from Fox’s Biscuits where she headed up the insight team, providing strategic and commercial direction to senior management and the Exec across customer, consumer and shopper marketing channels.

She comes to the agency with a rich background in commercial, planning and insight, having previously held roles both client and agency side. Her client-side experience includes time at Coors Brewers as consumer insight manager for innovation and most recently at Halfords where she was head of insight. Her CV also includes stints at Divine Marketing as head of planning and before that, as account director at M&C Saatchi.

LIFE has also made a raft of hires to its account management team including the appointment of account managers Vivian Ajayi and Alex Fenwick. Ajayi joins from Yourself Bodycare and has also done stints at Abstract, Brandscape and Communisis working with clients including Bentley and Barclays.  At LIFE she will be working on Maxiuum UK supported by Elizabeth Hawkins who joins as Account Executive. Fenwick comes to LIFE as account manager from Green Room Retail where she worked on the Nike account. At LIFE she will work on SCA and will be supported by Siobhan Vassell who joins as account executive.

LIFE has also added to its creative team with the appointment of Chris Quelch as senior artworker and Ginny Matthews as creative. Quelch joins from branding and design agency Keane Brands where he was senior creative artworker. Matthews has most recently worked freelance and has previously worked at The Open Consultancy and The Marketing Store.  Claudia Cooke is also returning to LIFE as creative services manager.

Ian Humphris, joint managing director comments: “Our client roster has never looked better. We’ve taken an aggressive approach to new business over the past six months and it’s paid off with the likes of Maxxium UK, SCA and Samsung coming onboard. That means we need a senior pair of strategic eyes and hands to deliver the guidance and shopper and consumer insight our clients need to grow their businesses.

“Debbie brings a balance of agency planning and internal client knowledge with her to LIFE which will enable us to guide our clients with real authority when telling them something is the right thing to do. She is also skilled in business and brand planning so she brings a true mix of strategy and planning expertise with her – all of which fit perfectly under the LIFE way of doing things; ‘Marketing First, Comms Second’.”

“We’re also delighted to welcome our new starters across the business to work on both existing and new client business. They bring a wide range of experience and we’re particularly thrilled to welcome back some faces we’ve worked with before.
