Laneige Malaysia Sparkles with Facebook AR Makeup Filter from AliveNow

Project marks Malaysia's first Facebook AR camera filter in the beauty and cosmetics sector

Creative tech agency AliveNow has partnered with Kingdom Digital to build one of Malaysia’s first interactive Facebook augmented reality camera filters for top Korean makeup brand, Laneige. This is the first ever makeup-based Facebook AR filter in Malaysia as a part of Laneige's campaign promoting their Sparkle My Way limited edition collection. 

The Sparkle My Way Facebook AR Filter lets users try on three different types of eye makeup, lipstick and blush from Laneige's new product range. Users can mix and match their selection and see which combinations they like the most and share their pictures and videos to get a chance to win these brand-new products from Laneige. 

Chong Hwa Yee, marketing manager for Laneige Malaysia said, “We are excited to have our very first personalised Facebook AR filter to celebrate the launch of our new Sparkle My Way limited edition collection. The inspiration behind the filter, along with the collection, is to encourage our sparkling beauties to show off their beautiful and confident self every day.”

The Facebook AR Filter went live in early August and has already garnered very good numbers. Thousands of users have played around with the filter and have virtually experienced the new products right on their mobile phones.

Kingdom Digital added, “60% of millennials are likely to make a purchase from a brand they follow on social media. Therefore, we constantly explore different types of social execution for Laneige to help them engage and interact with their customers. Working closely with AliveNow, we’ve conceptualised and developed this custom Facebook AR filter for Laneige. We hope Laneige's fans will have as much fun with it as we did creating it.”
