Manners McDade artist Johannes Motschmann is also currently touring in Germany

Johannes Motschmann's second release on the German label Neue Meister tells short stories from the musical universe of his debut album Electric Fields, expanding and complementing the sound situated between electronic dance music, avant-garde and orchestral spheres. Four new pieces have been written in recent months; a snapshot of the development that Motschmann, his ensemble and team comprising of multi-percussionist David Panzl and sound magician Boris Bolles went through last year. The last track, Papillon, a pure piano piece, is a wonderful little reprieve from the otherwise very driven and energetic cosmos that is Electric Fields.

This music reflects the career of Johannes Motschmann, who studied composition, piano and electronic music and has already written works for large orchestra. At the start of his career he played in various bands, with an equal love of new wave and electronica. Motschmann absorbs all these influences, mixes ambient, industrial and drone sounds with sonic fields, constantly forging associations with classical music. In the process, he naturally connects with the virtuoso tradition of Bach, Satie and Stockhausen, composers whose craft Motschmann has mastered.

Johannes is currently touring in Germany. Check out the remaining tour dates here:
