J. Walter Thompson Canada announced today that David Federico and Josh Budd, SVP, Creative Directors, have been elevated to the position of Chief Creative Officers, J. Walter Thompson Toronto. Federico and Budd hold the honour of being the first duo to lead the agency’s creative vision.

During their almost two years as SVP, Creative Directors, Federico and Budd have been instrumental in leading and shaping the department, along with some of the agency’s most successful work for Air Canada, Hotels.com and Kids Help Phone.

“It’s a strong indicator of bench strength when we are able to promote from within and a testament to the kind of leadership Dave and Josh have brought to the agency from day one,”
said Susan Kim-Kirkland, President and CEO, J. Walter Thompson Canada. “Dave and Josh will be the first duo leading our creative department, which comes with a built-in emphasis on collaboration. They’ve already begun to set their course with a keen focus on our clients’ business and quality of our work.”

Together they will lead the agency’s creative efforts for iconic brands including Tim Hortons, Walmart, Mazda, Hotels.com, Splenda, Air Canada, Johnson & Johnson.

A key part of the agency’s story is its collaborative spirit, which is at the heart of Federico and Budd’s creative partnership. The duo possesses a strong belief in teamwork and plan to continue strengthening the collaborative relationships with both staff and clients.

“Our client roster speaks for itself. There is no shortage of interesting business problems, and with them come tremendous opportunity. We’re honoured to have the chance to solve them alongside a couple hundred talented teammates, and do some work we’re all really proud of,” said Josh Budd, Chief Creative Officer, J. Walter Thompson Toronto.

Before joining J. Walter Thompson in 2016, Federico and Budd had successful roles together at Leo Burnett, and individually at Grip, john st., and Cossette. Throughout their careers they have worked on a wide range of iconic clients including, Mercedes-Benz, Ikea, McDonalds and P&G. The creative partners have received recognition for their work both nationally and internationally, including Campaign of the Year and Best of the Best at the 2015 Canadian Marketing Awards for# TD Bank.
