Horizon Draftfcb help grant a Christmas Wish

Beirut-based Horizon Draftfcb made Christmas come early to a little girl for who it couldn’t come quick enough.

 

The moving gesture was to give Carman, an 8-year-old girl battling cancer, a surprise early Christmas. It involved a helicopter, a cheerful Santa, massive Christmas lights, songs and uplifted spirits. The effort came through a wish by the organisation Tamanna.

 

Tamanna grants the wishes of children aged between 3 and 18 with critical illnesses to give them joy, strength and hope. Fulfilling a child's wish provides an escape from a difficult reality, restoring time for laughter. It allows the child to have a magical experience and share unforgettable moments with their family. Tamanna currently grants an average of three wishes a week. To help raise awareness of their great work Horizon Draftfcb created a short film to show one such wish coming true, which you can watch below:

 

 

On a quiet Saturday evening, Carmen's parents took her for a walk in Beirut Souks on what was her first outing after 5 days of chemotherapy. They grabbed a cup of strawberry ice cream, but unexpectedly, as they stepped out of the shop, carols began to play in the souks and volunteers distributed red Santa hats to the astonished crowd.

 

The wish came to a dramatic climax as Santa himself abseiled out of a helicopter, moving through the crowds to give Carmen her Christmas present – an iPad. A banner unfurled with a picture of the unsuspecting star and bystanders welled up with tears as they finally realized what was going on, but Carmen was laughing and smiling with joy.
