Helen Hadfield & Joanna Bailey have started a brand new boutique production company - Snapper - to foster and nurture a small pool of exceptional talent.
While conventional wisdom dictates that companies should aspire to get bigger, they, neither of them having much stick with conventional wisdom, have made the deliberate decision to stay small. Small allows them to concentrate on a bigger remit for their talent. Small means that each one of their directors can be brilliantly visible and that every single opportunity is grabbed with both hands. Inevitably, it also means that the stakes are higher, but they like that. Small is good. Small is brave.
Helen is a passionate believer in taking risks, and after 14 years of success at the joint helm of Bare Films, she believes that now is the right time to start again. Both she and Joanna wanted to create somewhere new where creativity can thrive and where people can do what they want to do and be what they want to be.
They are both hugely excited to announce that Debbie Turner is coming on board as the Snapper Consultant. Debbie is a brilliant human being, admired and respected throughout the industry who’s had an incredible career. She’s been Head of TV at BBH, MD at the Artistes Company, MD at MJZ and most recently a partner at Novo. Now she has decided on a new start with a new start up. Helen says ‘Debbie’s doing what she loves most - nurturing a fledgling company. She completely shares our vision for Snapper. She’s a risk taker who likes to have fun and loves what she does. We can’t wait.’
