'Liar' is a six-part thriller miniseries created by brothers Harry and Jack Williams, and co-produced by SundanceTV and ITV

Glenn Gregory, of Heaven 17, launches a new composition duo, Afterhere with Berenice Scott, for their first TV commission: tonight’s Liar on ITV. Produced by Two Brothers Pictures for ITV, the six-part drama Liar is a 21st-century take on modern-day gender politics, family life and the insidious corrosiveness of deceit, starring Joanne Froggat and Ioan Gruffud.

Glenn Gregory first came to prominence in the early 1980’s as lead singer in the seminal Sheffield electronic band, Heaven 17, and more recently singing with backing vocalist Berenice. He has worked continuously ever since, releasing a total of eight albums and touring extensively with the band, as well as being known as a musical collaborator with numerous other artists, from Tina Turner to John Lydon to La Roux.

Glenn’s career as a media composer began with his score for director Andrea Arnold’s (Fish Tank/American Honey) first feature, Red Road, which concludes with Glenn’s stripped down, intimate version of the Joy Division anthem, Love Will Tear Us Apart. Glenn’s next project was scoring the situation comedy White Van Man for ITV Studios, followed by Best Possible Taste: The Kenny Everett Story for Mammoth Screen, Chris Chibnall’s The Great Train Robbery for World Productions/BBC, and Code Of A Killer; starring James McAvoy and David Threlfall, the mini-series told the story of the first case solved by DNA fingerprinting.

The duo will be represented by London-based agency Manners McDade.

Bob McDade, Director, on the signing: "As lead singer of Heaven 17, Glenn was very much a part of my late teenage years and their seminal album Penthouse And Pavement was never far away from my turntable.  35 years later, Glenn now collaborates with the hugely talented Berenice and together, as Afterhere, they have scored Liar. Their contemporary score for the series is musically sophisticated and perfectly enhances the moral ambiguities depicted in the show."

Manners McDade is a composer agency and music publisher, since 2001. Their roster includes Nils Frahm, Max Cooper, Ben Foster and Harry Escott as well as representing labels such as Ghostly International for sync licensing.
