Gorillaz Wreak Havoc in Surveillance-style Video from Strangelove

Launching their newest AR experience for the Gorillaz, Deutsch Telekom have advertised their new Lenz App with a daring advert produced by London-based studio, StrangeLove.

Passion Picture’s has developed a long-standing relationship with the Gorillaz, extending collaborations with the band to its live-action sister company, StrangeLove, for this production.

In the advert Gorillaz band members, 2D, Murdoc, Russel and Noodle, wreak havoc throughout city streets shown through video surveillance and hand-held cam recording. The advert also interjects with users of the Lenz App, filming their encounters with the band through the App’s magenta-tinted filter. It’s ‘The Lenz’ ability to cleverly reference the app’s functionality, which makes this advert a unique exploration of AR technology.
