Getty Images, a world leader in visual communication, has announced the appointment of Jennifer Ferguson to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Global Communications – a founding position which sits on the company’s Executive Committee. Based in New York and reporting to Getty Images’ CEO Dawn Airey, Jennifer’s appointment marks another step in Getty Images’ strategy to extend its core B2B licensing business, driving the brand into the hearts and minds of consumers, as the company moves forward with its new public-facing Getty Images Everywhere strategy.

Jennifer joins Getty Images from Christie’s, the international fine arts purveyor – a brand synonymous with luxury – where she held the role of Senior Vice President and International Director of Communications and Public Relations, responsible for leading Christie’s global corporate communications efforts. Jennifer’s unique background and expertise, ensures she is perfectly placed to lead an encompassing communications approach which bolsters the Getty Images brand globally, connecting with the company’s expansive array of stakeholders – from the photographic and creative communities, to internal and investor audiences, as well as consumers, corporates and news organizations around the world.

Dawn Airey, CEO of Getty Images said: “I am thrilled that Jennifer will be joining our executive team, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the luxury, corporate and consumer space. As we move forward on our Getty Images Everywhere journey, it’s essential that we have a seasoned global communications leader at the helm to drive greater public perception and awareness for the wider brand.”

Airey continues: “With recent executive appoints in the data and innovation space, as well as Jennifer on board, we simply couldn’t have a stronger leadership team in place as we look to the future.”

Jennifer Ferguson, SVP Global Communications at Getty Images said: “The depth and breadth of Getty Images’ business means it is uniquely placed to reach an unparalleled spectrum of audience and with this comes incredible opportunity. Imagery is the common thread that transcends cultural and language barriers.  I am thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time and look forward to bringing Getty Images’ story to life in a digital era where consumers and businesses are demanding an increasing amount of visual and immersive content. Getty Images, a world leader in visual communication, today announces the appointment of Jennifer Ferguson to the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Global Communications – a founding position which sits on the company’s Executive Committee. Jennifer’s appointment follows a series of recent appointments to Getty Images’ Executive Committee as the company drives forward its strategy for growth. In 2016 alone, Getty Images announced a new Innovation Group spearheaded by Steve Heck, Chief Innovation Officer;  appointed Jon Miller and Nate Gandert to the roles of Chief Information and Technology officers respectively; announced a new Chief Human Resources Officer, Leander LeSure, last week; and created a further two executive positions, announcing Andrew Hamilton as the SVP of Data & Insights, with Steve Grimes announced as the company’s new Managing Editor & SVP of Consumer Media, joining Getty Images in September. In addition, last month Getty Images also appointed Lia Buffa de Feo to the new role of Vice President and General Manager, for the company’s print business.

Prior to her time at Christie’s, Jennifer held SVP positions at Kerzner International and Miramax Films/Dimension Films.
