Request a cocktail by sending inspiration to Facebook or Instagram

Jamie Oliver is teaming up with Bacardi, the world’s largest privately held spirits company, to run Cocktail Request Week,  a week-long opportunity for cocktail enthusiasts to put forward their drinks requests to his recently launched YouTube channel, Drinks Tube.

For one week only, Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August, Drinks Tube will be inviting cocktail lovers to take over the channel and send their cocktail inspiration to the team by using the #CocktailRequest hashtag on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.  Requests can be in the form of photos, ingredients or a brand new cocktail name. For more information you can watch the Jamie Oliver promotional video here.

A variety of Drinks Tube experts – including Simone Caporale, International Bartender of the Year*, and top bartender Rich Hunt – will be teaming up with the stars of Food Tube, DJ BBQ and Gennaro Contaldo, to create bespoke cocktail recipes inspired by the audience requests.

Five daily recipe videos will be filmed and uploaded to the Drinks Tube channel throughout the week. Anyone of legal drinking age in their country can send a request via the #CocktailRequest hashtag, and cocktail fans can also visit the studio in Old Street Station, London, to watch the filming taking place.

Bacardi is the exclusive spirits partner for Drinks Tube, combining its cocktail expertise and Bacardi Brand Ambassadors, mixologists and bartenders to co-create content for the channel, which launched in April 2014.

Jonathan Almond, Drinks Tube Channel Manager, says: “Cocktail Request Week is a hugely exciting initiative for us – for a whole week we’ll hand the channel over to the audience. We can’t wait to see what inspiration they send our way, and we look forward to featuring some very special guests throughout the week.”

Jacob Briars, Head of Global Advocacy and Training at Bacardi, says: “We’re really excited about Cocktail Request Week and think it is a fantastic opportunity for the Drinks Tube audience to let us know their favourite cocktails.  We’ll be keeping a keen eye on the requests coming through and can’t wait to see what the audience think of the new videos.”
