Friday Tunes: An Optimistic Build-Up to the Weekend

I’m a Music Supervisor at Curved Arrow, searching and clearing music for commercial usage. Creating playlists is a genuine hobby and always a mood-shaping experience.

For me, a Friday playlist should combine two elements; unwinding after a busy week, and the optimistic build-up to the weekend ahead.

Our eclectic playlist features a mix of classic tracks and some new tracks from upcoming artists, starting out with a spritely acoustic track from Indie-Folk Supergroup ‘Monsters Of Folk’, before throwing off the shackles with a bit of Chic & Blondie.

Next up is a great new raw track from unsigned Manchester-based Indie-Rock band The Marivaux, before slowing it down again with a bit of Reggae from Marcia Griffiths.

After that it’s full speed ahead - Madness’ unrelenting ‘Wings Of A Dove’, Todd Terje’s mind-bending ‘Inspector Norse’ and NinetyFive’s Summer scorcher ‘Sky High’.
