After the epic triumph of 3-Col-Saturday, Stage 4 of the FireFliesTour 2016 offered the peloton a more straightforward cycle, up and over the Col du Lautaret (2,058m) and down into the town of Briancon. There is no official rest day for the FireFlies this year, with eight consecutive days cycling.
A special mention for our two sets of brothers on the Sweet 16th Tour:
Dan & Matt Howell
Dan is Head of Studio at MullenLowe LA. He's a seasoned FireFlies West jockey and this is his second Tour of the Alps.
He's been joined on both occasions by his brother Matt (or as he calls him 'the shorter one').
Matt is a trader for T. Rowe Price in London and he is currently leading the @Bloodwise fundraiser for the peloton.
Ed & James Shires
Ed is a Veteran FireFly having already completed 3 Tours. He's an Effects Artist at The Mill in New York.
You can read more about Ed and his two colleagues from The Mill on their blog here.
James is Ed's younger brother (20) and the youngest member of the Sweet 16th Tour.
He's currently at University studying Medicine, so we're hoping that one day he'll make FireFly Medic on a future fundraiser.
Ed travels with his groupies!
He is joined on the Tour by his girlfriend, 'Ches' Lopez, a Solicitor working with Kingsley Napley LLP in London, who is doing a fantastic job powering up the mountains. His parents are also expected roadside at Stage 5 to cheer him up the mountain.
