FCB Hamburg Rocks with Yamaha Music Europe Account Win

Mandate includes a holistic advertising campaign for the Audio and Video product range

With the addition of Yamaha Music Europe, another world-renowned brand is on FCB Hamburg’s growing new business list. The European headquarters of the traditional Japanese company chose the agency out of the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG) after an international pitch. The mandate includes a holistic advertising campaign for the Audio and Video (AV) product range. Hi-Fi Systems and components, speakers, sound bars, receivers as home theatre systems, headphones and apps all fall under this product category. Upbeat campaigns will feature during the International Funkausstellung – IFA in Berlin.

The primary objective of the campaign is to position Yamaha’s AV products as having unrivalled quality and functionality in the home. “As a part-time drummer myself, I know just how important great quality is in music and our campaign for Yamaha Music emphasises this quality and we’re very excited about bringing this campaign to life,” says Daniel Könnecke, who’s been CEO at FCB Hamburg for the past two years.

The Creative Directors responsible for bringing this campaign to life are Patrick Hartmann (art), Michael Okun (copy) and Daniel Daglioglu (digital). Client Service Director, Nadja Ludwig, is the account manager. The strategic planning will be handled by Jonas Pieper, Global Planning Director at FCB Hamburg. The campaign specifically targets men and women between the ages of 30 and 40 from higher income brackets.

“Our customers are as sophisticated as our products, and the team at FCB Hamburg has successfully mirrored this thinking with a convincing campaign,” explains Jean-Philippe Wildeisen, Project Leader of Yamaha Music Europe. He is responsible for the communication strategy at Yamaha. The campaign will appear as moving image, at the PoS and in multiple digital channels. These elements will be rolled out in Germany and the Benelux, the core market of Yamaha Music Europe. The digital campaign extends to the UK, France, Scandinavia and Italy.

With Yamaha Music Europe, another iconic brand has decided to collaborate with FCB Hamburg. Since the beginning of the year the agency has added several new business wins which include comdirect bank as well as the Swedish retailer Rusta and Chupa Chups from CFP-Brands. Additionally, Kölln has also been successfully defended.
