On the close of LFW 2018, Cinelab London picks out the most stylish spots shot on film that have come through their doors this year

All eyes have been on London as fashion’s most stylish elite descended on the UK’s capital for its final Fashion Week of the year. Whilst Burberry and ALEXACHUNG took to the catwalks to showcase next summer’s collections, it-girls, bloggers and influencers contended for the title of the best-dressed and most-papped street-style looks.

On the close of LFW 2018, film processing lab, Cinelab, reports a staggering growth in film processing over recent years. They saw a jump from 15 commercials processed in 2015 to 190 spots processed so far in 2018 – suggesting that shooting on film is very much in vogue this season. Still reeling from the fashion spirit, Cinelab takes a look back at some its most fabulous fashion spots shot in film this year…

Vogue - Behind the scenes of Beyoncé Vogue Cover Shoot

(8mm processing and scanning & 16mm colour processing and 2K Log scans)

Vogue takes viewers behind-the-scenes of Beyoncé’s legendary cover photoshoot with the fashion publication, sharing the footage of the singer living in full. The stylised film embraces the full effects of shooting with the medium, complete with a dusty grain and light splashes.

Roberto Cavalli - Just Cavalli
(16mm colour Processing & HD Telecine)

Directed by photographer Jordan Hemingway for the Italian brand’s recent collection, the spot draws on muted tones and retro visuals to represent London’s ‘new hippies’. Drawing on London’s key subcultural style quirks from the '60s to the '90s, the films’ lens flares and light splashes complement the designs with a stylish retro aesthetic.

Burberry Beauty - Lip Crush
(16mm & 35mm processing, HD Telecine and 2K Arri scans)

Artistically directed by, and starring, model and actress Iris Law, Burberry Beauty launches its latest lip stain with a colour-popping spot. Re-igniting the British brand’s iconic check print, made famous in the '90s, the films’ bright pops of colour teamed with a dusty grain puts a contemporary spin on the retro look.

Carven

(16mm colour processing and 2K Log scans)
