NERD animation director Elmaz Ekrem’s film 'The Law of Sea' will be screened in New York over the next month as part of NYICFF Festival. The film focuses on the refugee crisis from an unheard perspective of the fisherman on the island of Lesvos, Greece, who worked tirelessly to help the arriving refugees to shore.

"The Law of the Sea" tells the story of these men and their lives, from the mundane to the shocking, as they give their very human account of a great tragedy of our time. The film has been screened at We The People at BFI and was shown on C4 as part of Random Acts series 9.
