DDB Worldwide’s CEO and the McCann Worldgroup Global Creative Council President will share their visión in El Ojo de Iberoamérica
El Ojo de Iberoamérica celebrates its first 21 years and announces Wendy Clark and John Mescall as Speakers of its training and inspiration cycle, which brings together year after year the brightest minds of creativity, marketing and the communications industry. Clark and Mescall will join Fernando Machado as part of the outstanding cycle of conferences, workshops and awards.

Wendy Clark serves as the CEO for DDB Worldwide. Wendy first joined DDB in January 2016, leading DDB’s 18 offices and ~2,000 people across the U.S and Canada as regional CEO. In her first year at the agency, Wendy launched DDB Flex, the bespoke, cross-agency model customized for DDB/NA’s clients’ businesses, hired the agency’s first-ever CCO, and helped land 53 new business wins, including the U.S. McDonald’s business, the biggest win of the last decade for DDB/NA, which required launching “We Are Unlimited,” the new agency servicing the business.

Prior to DDB, Clark was President, Sparkling Brands & Strategic Marketing for Coca-Cola North America, leading their Strategic Marketing organization including Brand Strategy and Innovation; Media Connections, Investments and Assets; and Content and Design. Before joining The Coca-Coca Company, Clark was Senior Vice President, Advertising for AT&T.

Called “one of the most important women in advertising” by Advertising Age, Clark has earned numerous recognitions over the course of her career including the Matrix Award from New York Women in Communications, She Runs It’s Advertising Woman of the Year, and was named the Brand Refresher on Fast Company’s top ten list of innovative Business Disruptors. Clark’s efforts were formally recognized in 2007 upon her induction into the American Advertising Federation’s Advertising Hall of Achievement. Most recently, Advertising Age named Clark their Executive of the Year for 2017.

Clark is an advisory board member for the Peabody Awards and IDEO.org and a board director for the Ad Council and American Advertising Federation. She also sits on the board for David Yurman. The network’s global leader will visit Latin America after DDB Latina was recognized as the Best Network for Ibero-America in El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2017. Clark has showed his pride over the creative work led by Juan Carlos Ortiz and will come to Buenos Aires to discover the formula for success of the region and share her vision and experience.

John is Global Creative Council President and Global Executive Creative Director at McCann Wordgroup. Prior to this, he was Chief Creative Officer of McCann Australia, responsible for the Melbourne and Sydney offices. Under John’s leadership, McCann Melbourne became the world’s most awarded agency, being the creative responsible for “Dumb Ways to Die”, one of the most awarded campaigns in the history of Cannes.

Honors include The Gunn Report Agency of the Year, D&AD Agency of the Year, Cannes Agency of the Year (Runner Up), AWARD Agency of the Year, Spikes Asia Agency of the Year and Campaign Brief Agency of the Year. As both a writer and a creative director, John has won over 60 Cannes lions including 6 Cannes Grand Prix, Black and Yellow Pencils at D&AD, One Show Best of Show, and multiple Clio, Spikes, LIA and Webby awards.

John was named in the 2013 Creativity 50: AdWeek’s annual listing of the world’s 50 most influential creative thinkers and doers, and Business Insider ranked him the 8th most creative person in advertising worldwide. In 2016, Rob Reilly, Global Creative Chairman of McCann Worldgroup, said: “Since John moved from Australia to New York, two years ago, he has brought all his creative energy into the network”.

In the coming weeks El Ojo de Iberoamérica will announce new conferences, workshops and masterclasses.

The start of the registration of pieces, campaigns and cases for the festival will be on July 2nd, but until June 29th are valid discounts for early registration to the entries.
