Brand & Deliver has secured a mix of high profile UK and international brand partners to support the 13th May release of The Angry Birds Movie for client Sony Pictures.

The campaign brings together global partner McDonalds with international brands Panasonic, Peperami and French hotel chain Accor, alongside UK brands Frubes, Thorpe Park and train companies Abellio and Northern Rail.

The McDonalds partnership will see the development of an exclusive Angry Birds ‘power up’ app with interactive scan symbols in store and a Happy Meal box takeover.

Available on over 10 million packs, Frubes’ exciting promotion includes a weekly draw to win a whole host of Angry Birds Movie merchandise, with a grand prize of a family holiday to the Bahamas. The partnership will be supported by a strong 360 degree marketing campaign with exclusive TV, digital, in store activation and PR.

Jack Link’s, manufacturers of Peperami and BiFi, will air a custom animated spot in 11 markets, directing consumers to an online sweepstake for the chance to win holiday packages and screenings using the tag line: The Official Stunt Animal of The Angry Birds Movie. In addition, Peperami & BiFi are supporting the promotion via the use of digital marketing within the Angry Birds 2 game and the new Angry Birds Action game release.

Thorpe Park Resort will use Angry Birds signage and screens playing the movie trailer, while the Accor partnership will see Angry Birds plushes placed in rooms across the hotel network.

Released on 13th May, The Angry Birds Movie is a 3D computer-animated action-adventure comedy film based on the video game series of the same name, starring Jason Sudeikis, Sean Penn and Peter Dinklage.

Richard Barnes, Head of Partnerships at Brand & Deliver, who are retained by Sony Pictures to negotiate film partnership campaigns, said: “The Angry Birds Movie will have huge global appeal and these eight brands together give us considerable scope to promote the film to UK and international audiences.”

Peter Taylor, Managing Director of Sony Pictures, said: “This is a powerful network of high profile partnerships that will showcase the much-loved Angry Birds characters as they finally get to tell the world why they’re so angry.”
