Today, Droga5 announced a new appointment to its senior leadership team. Amy Avery will join the executive bench as the agency’s first Chief Intelligence Officer, effective immediately, overseeing the agency’s team of data strategists and reporting into Global Chief Strategy Officer Jonny Bauer. Avery will be responsible for elevating the role of data as client remits continue to go deeper into clients’ businesses.

As Chief Intelligence Officer, Amy, along with her team, will leverage data to provide actionable insight. Part of their focus is to identify opportunities and targets. Another part is outcome-based planning, measurement and optimisation recommendations.

There is a common thread in Amy’s experience—she helps brands look for answers in consumers’ behaviours. She joined Droga5 from J. Walter Thompson, where she led the agency’s global analytics practice. Prior to J. Walter Thompson, Amy spent years at BBDO, where she established its their analytics function. She has worked with major brands including AT&T, FedEx, Hormel, Starbucks, SC Johnson, Campbell’s, United States Marine Corps, FEMA, Kimberly-Clark and Merrill Lynch, among others.

Having solid grounding in direct, CRM and digital work, she has also led teams that handle website development, online media, direct mail, database management and measurement and analytics programs.

Global Chief Strategy Officer Jonny Bauer says, “As clients continue to ask us to go further upstream into product and service innovation and further downstream into performance marketing, it became clear Amy was the right person to lead intelligence at Droga5. We share a belief in the power of influence to achieve effectiveness for all our clients, and we look forward to rounding out a unique creative offering that runs from top to tail.”
