Reed signs to global production house for US & UK representation

Production house Believe Media is pleased to announce the signing of Sebastian Reed for representation in the US and UK. Reed is an award-winning director and the co-founder and partner of premiere Stockholm-based production company Camp David Film. Recently, Reed launched the innovative filmmaking concept and new online platform: ASCENE.TV.

Sebastian Reed began his career as an editor before stepping into directing full-time with music videos for bands like The Cardigans, The Facer and Sahara Hotnights. Reed’s beautiful Scandinavian aesthetic seamlessly translated to the advertising world, leading him to helm many campaigns for clients such as IKEA, Coca-Cola, Reebok, Snickers, Nike, Puma, VW, and Mitsubishi. His work has earned him several nominations and awards at Cannes, Clio, Eurobest and the Swedish Golden Egg.

Recently, Reed shot “From Sweden Not Hollywood,” a series of TV idents for Volvo’s sponsorship of Sky Atlantic. Created by Grey London, the eye-catching clips draw clever parallels between the terminology of Hollywood moviemaking and the breathtaking landscapes of the Swedish countryside.

Reed is part of an elite group of directors recently added to the Believe UK roster since Managing Director James Covill took the helm at the London office. He is repped in both the UK and US territories alongside some of the most recognized directors in the business, including Anthony Mandler, Floria Sigismondi and Zack Snyder.

“There are so many new production companies popping up all the time, so it’s really wonderful to be joining such an established company,” remarks Reed. “Everyone in the business knows the solid reputation of Believe and the caliber of directors they represent. I’m thrilled to become part of that heritage.”

Reed launched ASCENE.TV in early October 2015. The idea behind A SCENE is to invite fellow filmmakers to create fragments from movies that “will probably never get made.” Stripped of the constraints of timelines and budgets, the platform allows directors to experiment and collaborate within the ambitious new format, while providing an excellent showcase for production companies, clients and agencies to scout rising talents.

“Sebastian is a prime example of a director with a vision,” says Luke Thornton, Executive Producer and Founder of Believe. “Staying true to his filmmaking roots, he has invented both an outlet for other artists to be featured as well as a destination to showcase his own considerable talents for storytelling in multiple genres.”

A SCENE Season One kicks off with an appetite-whetting trailer that leaves the viewer wondering what the next single scene will entail. Reed also directed the first eight high-cinema snippets to be released on A SCENE, which will debut every second week.

All genres are welcome except anything involving sexism, racism, or pro-religious propaganda.  The only criterion is that your scene should have a cinematic tone and feel as if you have dived in to a movie. Visit ASCENE.TV to learn about submitting a scene that you have already made, or send in your idea, script and reel, and A SCENE may be able to help you create your dream scene directly or by connecting you with the right people.
