Filmgraphics has announced that Jason Smith has joined its roster for exclusive representation in the Asia Pacific region.
Smith
comes with a wealth of experience having directed work covering action,
sport, vfx, celebrities, car and narrative/ performance genres. Smith
brings a unique and bold visual style to each of his projects, which has
garnered him acclaim as a leading director around the globe.
After
graduating with BAhons in English and Film Smith shot his first
documentary about Barcelona, which he sold to MTV. In that same year he
was nominated for "New Director of the Year" in Cannes. Smith has gone
on to direct more than 200 commercials and music videos for the likes of
Nike, Coca-Cola, Audi, BMW, EA, NFL, Mountain Dew, Under Armour, Sony,
Mitsubishi, NRL and bands Jamiroquai and Kasabian.
Smith and Filmgraphics have recently shot the NRL "Nothing Hits You Like
Origin" campaign via Archibald/Williams with the first game kicking off
tonight.
Says Smith: "I have shot in Australia many times, but
NRL State of Origin is the first campaign for this market. I loved the
experience and think the crews here are the best in the world."
