Deutsch LA Names Ivan Perez-Armendariz as EVP, Head of Experience

Ivan will lead a team of more than 50 employees across digital production, UX and technology departments
Deutsch has announced the appointment of Ivan Perez-Armendariz as EVP, head of experience, leading a team of more than 50 employees across digital production, UX and technology departments. He will also work closely alongside strategy, media and business intelligence teams. This announcement comes on the heels of the agency adding marquee social and digital businesses to its roster, such as Mattel, Inc. and the Almond Board of California’s global digital platform.

Ivan will be tasked with continuing the agency’s momentum around digital innovation, defining the holistic end-to-end customer journey for clients and prospects and identifying opportunities for new platforms, products, and services. Beginning his new role on July 22, Ivan will report to the president of Deutsch’s LA office, Kim Getty and will replace the role of chief digital officer in LA, currently held by Pam Scheideler. Pam personally tapped Ivan to take the reins as she departs from the agency for a new venture.

Ivan jump started his career by founding and running his own interactive agency in Boulder, titled texturemedia. The nationally-recognised digital agency saw immense success in its first seven years and was then acquired by Crispin Porter + Bogusky. After the acquisition, Ivan joined the agency full-time as an executive producer creating award-winning work for Jose Cuervo, PayPal, Dominoes, among others. Rising through the ranks quickly, he became EVP, managing director of CP+B’s LA office. Leaving the agency in 2017, Ivan became chief digital officer at a boutique shop, titled Rise and Shine and Partners.

In addition to recent new business wins, earlier this month the agency bolstered its business intelligence department through three key VP hires: Julia Locklear, Joanne Marrache and Jason Widjaja.
