Jacqui succeeds current president Melanie Johnston who is departing after a long agency tenure

Today, Lance Saunders, national president and COO of DDB Canada announced that Jacqui Faclier has been appointed to a new role as managing director of the agency’s operations in Toronto. She will assume this position as of October 9, 2018, as Melanie Johnston, current president of DDB Canada Toronto leaves the agency after a long tenure with an impressive track record.

Faclier who has been with the agency for 14 years, has served DDB in many progressive roles from group account director to VP business unit director and most recently as senior vice president, client service director. Her appointment is a part of the agency's succession plan that continues to reflect DDB’s longstanding commitment to cultivating talent and growth from within its organisation.

“After many years of dedicated service to DDB Canada, we wish Melanie all the best as she embarks upon this next chapter of her career,” said Saunders. “While we will miss her, we are also excited to see Jacqui, known for her exceptional new business and client relations leadership, take on this new role in Toronto.”

Both women have, to date, made outstanding contributions to DDB Canada’s business. Saunders noted that Melanie will be leaving an indelible mark on the agency, having contributed greatly to its culture, growth and operations.

Faclier originally joined DDB in 2004 as an account director in the Toronto office. Since then, she has built an impressive reputation for leading powerful business-building initiatives across all mediums including: mass advertising, digital, and social media. Faclier has been instrumental as both a cross-functional team leader, and a new and organic business growth driver. She is a trusted advisor to clients and has played critical roles in multiple award-winning campaigns for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Unilever’s Knorr and Becel brands, GO Transit, and Dairy Farmers of Canada.

In her new role, Faclier will be responsible for people development, financial management, revenue growth, and all agency-client relationships for DDB’s Toronto operations, while in a national capacity, Saunders will continue to focus on the company’s overall strategic direction and business development.

“There is an incredible depth of talent among our team at DDB,” said Faclier. “They are consistently pushing boundaries on behalf of our clients, and I’m looking forward to bringing our future-forward vision to life with them. It is my honour to now lead this team".
