Azima joins for US commercial representation

New York-based Cause & [Effect] has signed director Moh Azima for U.S. commercial representation.  A lauded music video director with output for Cold War Kids, Interpol and more to his name, Azima has also helmed spots for MTV, Marc by Marc Jacobs and American Express.  The director recently completed an Olympics-themed spot for Nick Jr., produced by Cause & [Effect].  Azima is currently repped on the West Coast and for Music Videos by Doomsday and was most recently repped at Paydirt Pictures.

Notes Cause & [Effect] Executive Producer Jason Zemlicka, “We’ve known and worked with Moh for a long time and are excited to have him aboard as a director.  He’s got a great eye for shots and tells beautiful, compelling visual stories.”

“I’ve always loved working with Jason and Jamie.  This just seemed like a logical evolution,” adds Azima.

Moh Azima’s career began with his short film, TRAPPEDINFREEDOM, which debuted in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2002.  From there, he was widely sought by bands and record labels as a music video director, helming numerous acclaimed music videos for bands ranging from Interpol and Cold War Kids to Chromeo and The Phenomenal Handclap Band.  His innovative music videos have led to numerous branded commissions under previous representation at Factory Films (2003-2007), Draw Pictures (2007-2008) and Paydirt Pictures.

In Azima’s new :30 “Dora Gymnastics” for Nick Jr., the director captures the art of rhythm gymnastics and youthful exuberance.  The spot features several charming little girls eloquently twirling ribbons for their rhythm gymnastics routines.
