Sneakers, agency ice creams, Ogilvy pronunciation, Star Wars, office mundanity and more

For those of you in the northern hemisphere, things should be warming up right about now as you head into spring. The southerners among you, though, are gearing up for winter. Well, come rain, shine, snow or sleet, this kicking list of creativity from LBB’s Addison Capper is sure to get your weekend started with a bang.

1. Sneakers: The Complete App

Sneaker-heads, take note. Creative agency U-Dox has created the most comprehensive sneaker app ever. Sneakers: The Complete App plays home to a massive digital library of over 500 items of footwear, allowing users to examine 18 sportswear brands and get 360-degree views of the world’s most famous silhouettes. U-Dox has history with sneakers. In 2014 it published Sneakers: The Complete Limited Editions Guide. Sneakers: The Complete App is only available for iPad. Download it here.

2. Agency Scoops

Agency Scoops was born out of Aditya Hariharan and Josh Namdar’s confusion when applying for summer internships. The Miami Ad School students wanted “to help students cool off, and get a taste of different ad agencies by presenting them as ice cream flavors”. The result are these fun, quirky, beautiful, and insightful designs, complete with such flavours as DDB’s Lemon Sorbet (“A slow-churned classic agency with a hint of forward thinking”), McCann’s Dumb, Death By Chocolate (“An indulgent medley of sweet insights and consistent results”), and Wieden+Kennedy’s Just Desserts (“A harmonious blend of timeless work and impeccable taste”). Check out the full selection here.

3. Brighton Body Bags

Two hundred body bags appeared on Brighton beach in England this week in what was a protest against the UK’s response to the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean, which has claimed more that 1,750 lives this year. Supporters of Amnesty International zipped themselves in some of the bags and lay alongside a banner that read ‘#DontLetThemDrown.

4. Ogilvy & Mather

Apparently the Spanish struggle with pronouncing ‘Ogilvy & Mather’ - at least that’s what these humorous videos from the agency’s outpost in Spain suggest. The aim of the films is to get people pronouncing the agency’s name ‘like a lord’, while educating viewers with a spot of Ogilvy history.

5. Star Wars Reactions

We got a bit excited when the latest Star Wars trailer dropped last week. So did these kids

On the other hand, Matthew McConaughey got all weepy and emotional.

6. Office Job

A couple of months back this column began to get a bit check-out-this-amazing-video-of-this-GoPro-strapped-to-this-animal heavy, so I vowed not to include one for a while. This hilariously boring offering from YouTuber Braziliandanny couldn’t be missed though.
