Bob The Robot Wins Finnish Agency of the Year

Finnish marketing agency Bob the Robot was chosen as the agency of the year. The award, called the 'Årets Byrå', has been handed out in Sweden since 2000 and in 2017 was the first year it was held in Finland. Bob the Robot has become the first Finnish agency to win the large advertising agency category, the award's main distinction.

The award distinguishes itself from other awards in terms of how ainners are chosen. 'Agency of the year' is solely based on client satisfaction. Clients give grades on numerous different criteria and the winner is chosen based on the agency receiving the highest overall score. The main areas that are studied are quality of work, business results and creativity.

One of the most important aspects of 'agency of the year' is that it is earned by the agency as a whole. While in traditional advertising competitions rewards are handed out to a single work or team, this prize is only reached if everyone works as one team toward a common goal.

Tuuli Kahma, one of the people responsible for bringing the award to Finland, says ”going forward the 'agency of the year' -competition will be the most important marketing competition in Finland. The core idea is for agencies to be able to develop themselves based on the feedback from the clients.“
