R/GA London leads with 12 nominations

The British Interactive Media Association today reveals the BIMA Awards 2016 shortlist, with nominations listed for R/GA London, DigitasLBi, We Are Social and MullenLowe Profero, among others.

R/GA London leads the shortlist, with 12 nominations for work including McDonalds and Beats by Dr. Dre, followed closely by DigitasLBi across work for Mumsnet, AstraZeneca and The National Trust. Other nominees on the list include SapientNitro, AKQA, Realise, Kitsune, Only, Kagool and VML London.

The BIMA Awards are judged annually in two stages by a 30-strong panel of influencers within the UK digital sector: decision makers at leading brands, agency stars and industry thought leaders. This year’s awards judges will include figures from MADE.com, Facebook, ITV and The Science Museum. Work is judged by taking a 360 degree look at the submission, and is marked equally against four areas of judging criteria – Strategy & Insight, Innovation, Execution and Effectiveness.

This year’s awards include categories across UX & Service Design, Immersive, Well-being & Health and, a brand new category, Arrival of the Year.

The BIMA Awards are the longest standing and most prestigious digital awards in the UK. For over 30 years the annual event has recognised excellence within the UK digital industry and celebrated the best in British digital.

Bridget Beale, MD of BIMA said: “The BIMA Awards shortlist showcases the power of digital to transform businesses and bottom lines. Our jury has selected game-changing work from all across the country – produced by agencies large and small, by in-house teams at brands and by tech startups. Congratulations to you all and we look forward to the celebrations!"

Adam Graham, BIMA Chairman and Consultant at Cact.us said: “Brand leaders ask us who is doing the best work; we refer them to the BIMA Awards shortlist. You don't make the grade unless your work stands out across all four judging criteria and with this tough selection process in mind, everyone on the shortlist should feel incredibly proud.”

Winners will be announced on 15 September with the full nominees list available to view on the BIMA Awards website.
