Diet Coke hunk Andrew Cooper launches pet shampoo brand

Andrew Cooper, the hunk behind the latest Diet Coke advert, shows his soft side this week as he reveals the first ever advertising campaign for his all-natural dog grooming range ‘WildWash’. The print campaign has been created by advertising agency BETC London, the very same company behind the February’s ‘Gardener’ advert starring Cooper.

Launching today, the inaugural WildWash adverts portray all the hallmarks of a high-end hair-care campaign; impeccably styled models lit beautifully with glossy, impossibly perfect tresses quite at home in Vogue, Tatler and Harpers Bazaar.

But this is no ordinary high-fashion shoot. WildWash is ‘Luxury hair care, for dogs’ and the three print executions feature human models styled as iconic canine pedigrees: ‘The Shitzu’, ‘The Poodle’, and ‘The Old English Sheepdog’. The international fashion, music and celebrity photographer Simon Harris shot the elegantly irreverent photographs with canine hair styling courtesy of leading stylist Sally O’Neill.

WildWash, brainchild of Andrew and his wife Jane, is the UKs first all-natural pet grooming company and boasts the 3 Star certification from ASCAS (Animal Shampoo and Cosmetics Association Standards).  WildWash has a vision that all their products would be every bit as good as the highest quality human equivalents available. An acclaimed independent boutique apothecary hand blend all WildWash products in the UK and all products only include ingredients with natural, healing and enriching properties for the pet’s sensitive skin - a diverse and holistic mixture of plants, botanicals and essential oils.

Andrew Cooper, founder WildWash explains, “A passion for my pets lead me to open Mutz Nutz, a leading London pet boutique and spa, over 10 years ago. I was inspired to create WildWash after noticing a real lack of environmentally conscious, quality grooming products.”

Neil Dawson, Executive Creative Director BETC London comments, “As well as being a highly successful model, Andrew Cooper is an entrepreneur and an animal lover. We are very excited to be working with him again, this time on his own venture. We’ve created some high end assets to launch what is a very high quality range of products.”

The print campaign will run in consumer lifestyle magazines. In addition the images will form the basis of the WildWash brand identity and feature on marketing and promotional materials such as www.wildwash.co.uk

Advertising agency BETC London has had a strong start to the new year launching the ubiquitous Diet Coke ‘Gardener’ TV spot, striking a chord with women across Europe with the revival of the ‘hunk’.  In February the agency won the global Bacardi account from WPP with an iconic campaign set to launch later this year.
