Attention Appoints Tom Buontempo as President

Tom joins from KBS where he served as Chief Business Development Officer

Attention, a leading social marketing agency founded in 2006, announced today the appointment of Tom Buontempo as president. Tom’s appointment strengthens Attention and its leadership team, which oversees the industry’s most expansive social media marketing practice within an integrated agency today.

Tom joins Attention from KBS, the agency’s parent company, where he most recently served as Chief Business Development Officer, working across the KBS group of companies, including Attention. KBS acquired Attention in March 2014, adding its social media marketing expertise to KBS’s unique mix of specialisms. As a fully integrated creative, advertising and marketing agency, KBS taps into Attention’s deep understanding of the social media landscape and consumers’ social behaviors in inventing across the entire customer journey for shared brand clients.

At Attention, Tom will be responsible for overall agency expansion across services and clients, talent and culture, and partnerships and prospects. He will report into CEO Curtis Hougland, and work closely with the senior management team including COO Paul Beck, CMO Dana Griffin and Creative Director Dan Janoff. As co-founder of KBS’s Content Labs unit, which houses social and content practices, a brand newsroom and content studio, Tom will also continue to oversee this specialism and the invention of new ways consumers can share and socialize along the purchase journey in addition to his new responsibilities at Attention.
