Alex Arcoleo plays exclusive session at Audio Network’s first ‘Work In Progress’ event

Following the launch of web portal Workshop in 2015, the team at Audio Network introduced the latest phase of their artist profiling this week. To complement Workshop, the interactive platform that allows advertisers to find out more about the origins and influences behind the music, the team hosted their first Work In Progress.

On Friday 11th March, artist and producer Alex Arcoleo performed at an intimate gig in Dalston, for a select audience, discussing the making-of his new album Shadowtalk and showcasing exclusive demo tracks.

Liam Klimek, Music Consultant at Audio Network, comments: “We’ve been working with Alex for four years now and we wanted to give people the opportunity to listen to his work and speak to the artist in person. It was a great chance to put him under the spotlight and give people a real insight into the inner workings of his music, as well as others we support and licence.”

Alex Arcoleo comes from a musical family and taught himself the fundamentals of music by studying piano and composition. Since his mid-teens he has concentrated on expanding his musical landscape, using electronics, unusual recording techniques, and computer-based technology - all of which help him to develop his unique sound.

Opening up about the development of his music, Alex adds: “A lot of the music I write still begins on the piano. I write the percussions andmelody and then transfer everything to computer. If I have an idea I try to get it down in some form as quickly as possible, some ideas will grow quite naturally from there. Bonobo is a big influence on me, melody-led music asopposed to percussion-led.”

In addition to an open forum with the artist, Work In Progress also included a selection of new demos led by a discussion from the latest addition to Artists and Repertoire, Chloe Anderson.

Liam adds: “We’re incredibly excited to have Chloe on the team to bolster our growing A&R team. We hope that this will be the first of many of these events where people can come and share their ideas on what they do and don’t like, what we should do differently and what they want to hear more of from us.”

All of Alex’s work is licensed through Audio Network, and his album Shadowtalk launches on 25th March.

His completed track ‘First Sunset’ from upcoming album Shadowtalk will also feature at Audio Network’s Cannes event, Music In Colour. The team will be launching a music video for the track which they have developed with the creatives at FCB Inferno.
