Agency WE ARE PI creates visual identity for new brand launch

Zoku was created for global nomads, the new generation of business travellers whose professional lives take them all over the world. Its design and vision will disrupt our notion of the hotel room as we know it today with its home-office hybrid concept.

The big innovation is the Zoku Loft, which shifts the focus from the bed to the living and work space. The central feature of the room will be a four-person table that can be used to dine, work and entertain, or just hang out.

The smart loft interiors are customisable and feature an elevated loft-style sleeping space accessed by a retractable staircase. Zoku describe it as hybrid-living meets compact-living - living large in a small space.

Value innovation and guest-centric design are the most profound fundamentals for Zoku, which creates an interesting alternative to the offers of the traditional, non-social long-stay options available at the moment.

Amsterdam-based creative agency WE ARE Pi created Zoku’s visual identity and the brand film that introduces the revolutionary Zoku Loft by announcing the end of the hotel room.

The Zoku concept is the result of extensive crowdsourcing and research efforts by the team and futures consultancy The Future Laboratory. Designed in collaboration with Concrete, the award-winning interior design and architecture agency, Zoku will be a relaxed place to live, work and socialise with like-minded people while getting wired into the city.

The first Zoku will open in Amsterdam in Autumn 2015, with the team aiming for a fast international rollout of Zokus in the world’s most creative cities, including Paris, London and Berlin. All Zokus will have open-plan communal living and co-working spaces, to facilitate social interaction and more formal meetings.
