APA Announces Amsterdam Agency Collection Screening

The APA Collection is our unique compendium of the best commercials of the year from the UK – this year saw 44 spots awarded and this year’s quality is astonishingly high. For the second year we’re bringing the APA Collection to Amsterdam on 29th November, at Zoku Amsterdam. 

As with last year we’ll be screening to an invited audience of Amsterdam agencies, alongside London’s commercials specialists in production, editing, animation, VFX, music and sound.

But why Amsterdam? Following the success of our first Amsterdam screening last year, we’re keen to build on that and also continue to push the talent and expertise that our UK companies possess. When it comes to advertising Amsterdam is part of London – or London is part of Amsterdam. Aside from London, it’s the only European centre for advertising, as opposed to a purely national centre. 

Most importantly, the link between London and Amsterdam in advertising is very well established. There are great agencies – Wieden+Kennedy, 180, TBWA, 72andSunny leading the way in terms of creative prizes and writing scripts for great clients like Nike, Heineken and Adidas, and with a long record of working with the top production specialists in London. 

They work with London because we draw in the top creative talent in commercials from around the world, and thus have set the highest standards – seen in the Cannes wins over the years – and are constantly striving for better. 

And London does do better, whether it wants to or not! There’s too much white-hot competition for work to not continuously strive. If you’re not brilliant, you won’t last long. Tough for the people in that market, but great for those trying to buy the best creative talent across the whole production spectrum. 

Each year, the APA Collection contains Amsterdam-London work. This year featured work from 72andSunny and 180 Kingsday, and over the years we’ve seen a mass of Amsterdam based creative make it into our coveted spots.
