AIRBAG Director Stephen McCallum's Feature Film Selected For Melbourne International Film Festival
AIRBAG's Stephen McCallum's debut feature film, 1%, has been chosen to screen as a part of the Melbourne International Film Festival.
McCallum serves up a gritty exploration of brotherhood and betrayal that takes its cues from Shakespeare. Scripted by and co-starring Matt Nable, it's as vibrant as it is violent, offering a powerhouse showcase of local talent complete with a film-stealing turn by rising star Abbey Lee.
"A lean, mean, well-oiled genre machine ... 1% is a gloriously rendered and assured debut feature," said FilmInk.
Says Martin Box, EP, AIRBAG: "It's brilliant to see Stephen's provocative work making the cut at the prestigious Melbourne International Film Festival. He's brilliant with talent, and it shines through in the film's performances."
The film, produced by Jamie Hilton and Michael Pontin for See pictures and Ticket to Ride, screens at MIFF in August - view the trailer and book tickets here.
