We're looking for a Senior Manager, Analytics to develop and effectively execute best practices for analyzing behaviors, configuring and implementing analytics technologies, and interpreting data for a diverse and varying client base. This includes segmentation, modeling, dashboard development and other data solutions. Using various tools, this role will access marketing data to help clients understand performance, and how to improve usability, promotions, and marketing campaigns over time. This position will report to the VP, Insights & Action and is based in San Diego, CA.

Roles & Responsibilities

Educate and coach clients and teams to actively identify opportunities for improvement according to business objectives.
Make recommendations to improve marketing and product effectiveness by analyzing behavioral data to maximize sales, profitability and growth.
Serve as point of contact to assigned clients and vendors
Develop analytics solutions that include acquisition, click stream, behavioral, conversion, mobile, social, qualitative and/or offline data, etc.
Provide continuous education and training by evangelizing the use of effectiveness measurement throughout the company.
Have a business mindset and an approach that recognizes that great analytics are only valuable if they lead teams to action
Mentor team members by showing leadership in the areas of strategy, problem solving, work ethic and quality
Institute and conduct internal reviews and feedback for team member client deliverables
Contribute to department process improvements for improved efficiency and quality of work.
Lead projects and make decisions that benefit the client, team and project
Be the measurement and analytics expert for projects, identifying reporting requirements, monitoring the reporting implementation, and evaluating post-launch metrics.
Define key performance metrics for user behavior and marketing effectiveness (user growth, engagement, abandonment, campaign ROI, segmentation).
Recommend and implement the right set of tools that will enable reporting including use of tracking tools, user interface assessment tools, conversion and site optimization testing methods, and other tools as the leader sees fit to deliver on driving and acting on insights into the business.
Create reporting strategies leveraging analytics tool UIs, Tableau, KNIME and other leading-edge technologies
Be the subject matter expert on analytics, user behavior, data analysis, and reporting.
Capture and display data in clear, simple dashboards that link back to activities of the team and can be easily adopted by the organization, leading ultimately to business growth.
Lead projects while delegating tactical responsibilities to other team members
Sales and Marketing Responsibilities:

Identify opportunities for new and recurring business
Provide scoping and level of effort estimates for new and recurring business
Participate in creation of sales presentations for new business/client presentations
Support company and department marketing activities

Requirements:

BA/BS/MS Degree
8+ years of relevant work experience
Proficient in Adobe Analytics
Proficient accessing and transforming data into insights
Proficient in R, Python or other statistical scripting languages
Strong grounding in fundamental statistical concepts and theories and experience around employing them for real world use cases
Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Keeping up to date with the latest and the greatest in analytical technologies
Experience leading cross-functional projects with marketing, business and technical teams
